Event planner by day– yogi and backcountry explorer by nights & weekends!
I love the outdoors! I’m happiest when I’m outside, practicing yoga and hanging out with my friends. So, it just made sense to combine all three and create Sunshine Hikes.
I completed my 250-hour teacher training with Dhyana Yoga in 2011. During my training, I not only learned how to teach, but also the importance of movement, alignment, & mindfulness which has helped me on and off the mat.
While hiking a few years back, I realized my focus was on getting to the top. I wasn’t taking the time to enjoy the surroundings or the people I was with- it was solely on completing the hike. Since then, I’ve incorporated yoga and mindfulness into my hikes– setting an intention, focusing on breaths and taking breaks to enjoy the surroundings. It’s not a race to the finish!
That’s what I'm here to bring you! A hiking excursion that focuses on the journey, not the destination.

Yes! Sunshine Hikes are designed for all experience levels. You don’t need any prior yoga or hiking background—just a willingness to spend time outdoors and move mindfully at your own pace.
-
Hike miles and duration vary based on the specific trail. All details will be outlined on the specific hike webpages.
-
Cancellations are currently viewed on a case-by-case basis. Please email sunshinehikes@gmail.com with any specific questions.
If the weather is bad, we’ll assess and make a decision 24-hours prior.
At Sunshine Hikes, we focus on the journey, not the destination. Each hike has a specific pace and length, but they’re all rooted in mindfulness. Hikes are limited to 12 people to keep the experience intimate yet social—small enough to feel seen, supported, and connected, without any pressure.
You’ll receive an email about a week prior with all the details—meet-up location, weather forecast, recommended pack list, estimated hike duration, and mileage. Most of this info will also live on the specific hike webpage, but as always, feel free to reach out via email anytime with questions!
Here’s how the excursion will flow:
• Meet as a group at Mariah’s car near the trailhead (snacks and water provided)
• Short walk into the park to our gathering spot
• 15-minute nature meditation, light mindfulness, and gentle stretching
• Begin the hike at a relaxed, beginner-friendly pace
• Time to walk, chat, or enjoy quiet moments in nature
• Mid-hike pause for stretching, snacks, and a breather
• Return to the gathering location for a final stretch and closing circle
• Walk back to the parking area together, then head out on your own—feeling refreshed, grounded, and a little sunnier.
